Barmouth Beach is nestled between craggy mountains and the often crashing sea and is known for being the most popular beach in all of the southern Snowdonia area.
It has a European Blue Flag status which assures you of having met the very strict criteria on water quality. Locally there are shops to buy beach “gear” at reasonable prices. You can rent a body board, paddle board or kayak, have paddle board lessons in the nearby harbour, go sea fishing, take a ferry to the nearby Fairbourne or just sit and relax with a good book enjoying the stunning scenery.
It retains much of its traditional seaside charm with pursuits such as donkey rides, swing boats, and amusement arcades all on offer. In keeping there is a pleasant promenade skirts Barmouth Beach and during the summer months a land train runs along it.
